Whether you’re a student, faculty / staff member, department member, vendor/contractor, retiree, or visitor, you can view the permit options available to you in the following section.

Student Permits

Long-term/short-term parking permits for students who commute to campus by motor vehicle.

Vendor/Contractor Permit

Description

  • Vendors and contractors may purchase this permit to visit the Institute frequently for business purposes.
  • Georgia Tech department members may also purchase this permit on behalf of vendors and contractors who visit the Institute frequently for business purposes.
  • Several parking options are available to meet the needs of vendors and contractors. These include:
    • Permits for gated parking zones
    • Permits for ungated parking zones
    • Temporary permits valid for a specific day/time
  • Annual Vendor/Contractor permits are provided on a moveable hangtag that may be shared by multiple vehicles/drivers of the vendor/contractor's company (one vehicle at a time).
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly Vendor/Contractor permits are vitual. A physical hangtag will not be distributed. The vehicle's license plate number will serve as the permit.

Availability

  • This permit is available to vendors and contractors who visit the Institute frequently for business purposes. Georgia Tech department members may purchase this permit on behalf of such a vendor/contractor.
  • Vendor/Contractor permits may only be purchased in person at the PTS office. The registration information for each vehicle must be provided upon purchase.
  • August 15 through August 14 of the following year.

Visitor Permits

Long-term/short-term parking permits for visitors who visit campus by motor vehicle.

Temporary Permit

Description

  • This permit allows students, faculty, staff, department members, and visitors to park in ungated parking zones on a basis that matches their needs.
  • Daily permits are issued for one day and expire at 7 AM the following morning.
  • Weekend permits are issued for one weekend and permit parking from 5 PM on Friday through 7 AM on Monday.
  • Weekly permits are issued for one week and expire at 7 AM the morning after the same day of the following week.
  • Monthly permits are issued for one month and expire at 7 AM the morning after the same day of the following month.
  • Temporary permits are only valid for the locations and dates indicated on the permit.

  • This permit is available to Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, department members, and visitors.
  • August 15 through August 14 of the following year.

Pricing

  • $15 per daily permit.
  • $15 per weekend permit.
  • $35 per weekly permit.
  • $110 per monthly permit.
  • Temporary permits are non-refundable.

Retiree Permits

Long-term/short-term parking permits at discounted rates for retired GT employees.

Retiree Permit

Description

  • Georgia Tech faculty and staff who retire are eligible to purchase parking permits at a discounted rate.
  • Fully retired persons are eligible to purchase an annual Retiree permit that may be used in any ungated parking zone (excluding E44 and E49).
  • Retirees who are working part-time at the Institute may purchase an annual Retiree/Working permit and can also request gate access for one gated parking area in any one of the following locations: E40, E46, E52, E63, E81, W21, and W23.
  • New retirees must provide documentation of their retired status to PTS and be granted authorization by their supervisor to obtain a retiree permit.

  • This permit is available to Georgia Tech faculty and staff who have retired.
  • August 15 through August 14 of the following year.

Pricing

  • $398 for retirees still on Georgia Tech payroll.
  • $50 for retirees no longer on Georgia Tech payroll. This pricing is non-refundable and only allows for parking in ungated parking zones.

Purchase Retiree Permit

Description

  • This permit allows students, faculty, staff, and retirees to park in non-SmartPark and non-visitor parking zones.
  • Flex Permits allow for in/out access to parking zones while the permit is active.
  • Flex Permits are active until 11:59 PM of their active period.
  • Flex Permits may be purchased up to 60 days before usage.

Availability

  • This permit is available to Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, and retirees.
  • August 15 through August 14 of the following year.
  • Flex Permits are not available for 3 days prior to major campus events.

Pricing

  • $8 for daily permit.
  • $15 for consecutive two-day permit.
  • $35 for weekly permit.
  • $110 for monthly permit.
  • Flex Permits are non-refundable.

Purchase Flex Permit

Description

  • Motorcycle permits allow students, faculty, staff, and retirees with motorbikes, mopeds, scooters, and minibikes of all engine sizes to park on campus in any designated motorcycle parking area.
  • This permit excludes fully retired faculty/staff.
  • Motorcycles must be registered with the Georgia Department of Driver Services and have a valid Georgia Tech permit to park on campus.
  • Motorcycles may only be parked in designated motorcycle parking areas.
  • Motorcycle permit holders must pay the hourly rate if parked in a visitor lot.

Availability

  • This permit is available to Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, and retirees.
  • August 15 through August 14 of the following year.

Pricing

  • $145 for primary vehicle.
  • $30 for secondary vehicle. The secondary vehicle price is only available in conjuction with an Annual Individual Permit and is non-refundable.

Purchase Motorcycle / Scooter / Moped Permit

Description

  • Faculty, staff, department members, and retirees are eligible to purchase reserved parking spaces in their assigned parking zone.
  • This permit excludes fully retired faculty/staff.
  • Reserved spaces are only available to the owner of the space 24 hours per day, 7 days a week (with the exception of special events or construction).
  • To request a new reserved space or change an existing reserved space, please complete the Reserved Space Request form. Once a reserved space request has been approved by the PTS Senior Director, PTS staff will assist the customer in choosing a reserved space in his/her assigned parking location and will install reserved space signage.
  • PTS staff will enforce reserved stall only upon the request of the reserved space user.

Availability

  • This permit is available to Georgia Tech faculty, staff, department members, and retirees, excluding fully retired faculty/staff.
  • August 15 through August 14 of the following year.
  • Reserved space stalls must be renewed annualy.
  • Retirees may renew their reserved spaces during the PTS annual renewal period.

Pricing

  • $750 for reserved space permit. This cost must be paid in addition to the amount paid for an Annual Individual Permit (for faculty/staff and department members) or an Annual Campus Retiree (working part-time) Permit.

Payments

Permit Payments

All student permit fees, except for those associated with SmartPark and Flex permits, are transferred to the Bursar’s office to be paid along with tuition and fees. SmartPark units and Flex permits may be paid for using a credit card.

Returns / Refunds / Exchanges

Permits are issued and assigned in accordance with Georgia Tech’s academic year. Permits are pre-sold starting in April for the upcoming academic year.

Refundable permits may be returned for prorated refunds to the PTS office before March 31 each academic year. Permits returned after this date will not be refunded. SmartPark, Flex, Motorcycle, and Temporary permits are nonrefundable.

Students may exchange their Annual Individual or Carpool permits for a different location by filling out the Permit Return Request form and purchasing their desired permit in My Parking Account.
