Georgia Tech offers a wide range of campus parking permits designed to meet the needs of each person who drives to campus. Whether you’re a student, faculty / staff member, department member, vendor/contractor, retiree, or visitor, you can view the permit options available to you in the following section.

Annual Individual Permit
Description
- This permit allows students, faculty, staff, and department members to park in one assigned area at any time (except when needed for special events).
- These groups may also park after-hours (5 PM to 8 AM) and on weekends (Friday, 5 PM to Monday, 8 AM) in non-residential, non-visitor parking areas (6 AM daily for E45 and E81). This also excludes E48 and E82.
- All Annual Individual permits are virtual, excluding E70. Virtual permit holders will not receive a physical hangtag.

- This permit is available to Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, and department members.
- August 15 through August 14 of the following year.

Department Permits

Departmental Permits
Description
- Many Georgia Tech faculty and staff use their personal vehicles to travel to several campus buildings to conduct Institute business (meetings, deliveries, etc.). Various permits are available to Departments whose personnel use personal vehicles to conduct Institute business and/or a campus fleet vehicle.
Permit Types
Official Business Permit (OBP)
- Allows employees to park in any ungated lots for up to 2.5 hours. This permit allows the use of loading zones while loading and unloading and service vehicle spaces for up to 30 minutes, and any other unreserved, non-gated, or non-metered parking space while conducting official Institute business.
- The OPB is not a stand-alone permit. It must be used in conjunction with a valid Georgia Tech Annual Individual, Carpool, Flex, Temporary or Retiree permit.
- Permit holders with a physical hangtag must display both the OBP and their valid GT parking permit os use OBP parking privileges.
- Virtual permit holders must register their vehicle in their Driver's Seat account, and display the OBP permit to use OBP parking privileges.
- To request an OPB, complete the departmental permit request form.
- NOTE: Vehicles parked in excess of the allowable limits will be cited and are subject to impoundment.
- Official Business Permits are not permitted in E44, Student Health Center patient parking lot, handicap spaces (without a State-issued ADA hangtag), reserved spaces, metered spaces, no parking zones, visitors pay parking areas, or gate-controlled parking areas.
Fleet Vehicle Permits
- Vehicles licensed or titled to the Institute or the Institute’s business partners and used in connection with Institute business or activities. This includes low-speed vehicles and golf carts. Department/Fleet vehicles without permits are subject to citation.
- To request Fleet Vehicle Permits, complete the departmental permit request form.

- Completed IDSS form for journal entry payment containing PeopleSoft number, Doc ID, and Account number.
All Access Permits
- Individuals with All Access may park in any gated or ungated campus parking location (excluding Visitors Areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, E82, N171 and campus metered parking spaces).
Multi Access Permits
- Individuals with Multi Access may park in any gated or ungated campus parking location (excluding Visitors Areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, E44, E45, E48, E82, N171, and campus metered parking locations).
Dual Access Permits
- Individuals with Dual Access may park in their assigned location for their Annual Individual Permit and one additional parking location (excluding Visitor Lots, E44, E45, E48, and N171).

- $460 for Official Business Permit. This cost must be paid in addition to the amount paid for an applicable campus permit.
- $230 for Fleet Vehicle Permit
- $460 for All Access Permit. This cost must be paid in addition to the amount paid for an Annual Individual Permit.
- $460 for Multi Access Permit. This cost must be paid in addition to the amount paid for an Annual Individual Permit.
- $230 for Dual Access Permit. This cost must be paid in addition to the amount paid for an Annual Individual Permit.

Retiree Permit
Description
- Georgia Tech faculty and staff who retire are eligible to purchase parking permits at a discounted rate.
- Fully retired persons are eligible to purchase an annual Retiree permit that may be used in any ungated parking zone (excluding E44 and E49).
- Retirees who are working part-time at the Institute may purchase an annual Retiree/Working permit and can also request gate access for one gated parking area in any one of the following locations: E40, E46, E52, E63, E81, W21, and W23.
- New retirees must provide documentation of their retired status to PTS and be granted authorization by their supervisor to obtain a retiree permit.
Availability
- This permit is available to Georgia Tech faculty and staff who have retired.
- August 15 through August 14 of the following year.
Pricing
- $398 for retirees still on Georgia Tech payroll.
- $50 for retirees no longer on Georgia Tech payroll. This pricing is non-refundable and only allows for parking in ungated parking zones.

Payments
Permit Payments
All student permit fees, except for those associated with SmartPark and Flex permits, are transferred to the Bursar’s office to be paid along with tuition and fees. SmartPark units and Flex permits may be paid for using a credit card.
Returns
Returns / Refunds / Exchanges
Permits are issued and assigned in accordance with Georgia Tech’s academic year. Permits are pre-sold starting in April for the upcoming academic year.
Refundable permits may be returned for prorated refunds to the PTS office before March 31 each academic year. Permits returned after this date will not be refunded. SmartPark, Flex, Motorcycle, and Temporary permits are nonrefundable.
Students may exchange their Annual Individual or Carpool permits for a different location by filling out the Permit Return Request form and purchasing their desired permit in My Parking Account.
