Motorcycles (which include motorbikes, minibikes, scooters, or mopeds) must be registered with the DMV and have a paid permit to park on campus. Beginning August 1, 2011, all motorized vehicles, regardless of engine size, will be required to have a purchased parking permit.
Please provide a document of ownership (i.e., bill of sale or vehicle registration) and driver's license to register a motorcycle and/or to purchase a motorcycle permit. Moped drivers can also provide the vehicle identification number (VIN) for registration.
Motorcycles with permits may be parked in any designated motorcycle parking area on campus. Click here to view the current parking map to view the desingated motorcycle parking zones.
Driver Safety
Parking and Transportation Services is interested not only in helping customers stay safe and in compliance with Georgia law, but supports safety initiatives for all members of the Georgia Tech community by providing adequate and easily accessible motorcycle parking spaces throughout campus.
For campus safety, all motorized vehicle parking will be limited to designated parking areas only. If motorcycle stalls are full in a customer’s desired parking zone, the permit customer must park in another lot with designated motorcycle stalls. Parking on Institute sidewalks, walkways, fire lanes, meters, reserved stalls, disabled stalls, loading zones, in building entrances and breezeways is prohibited. Parking with motorcycle permits in restricted areas will result in a citation. All motorized vehicles require a parking permit, which can be obtained through the department.
