About our usual operations

Parking on Campus

Parking on campus requires a permit or hourly visitors fees at meters or visitors lots. PTS offers a variety of parking permit options for occasional, semester or annual parking. Most permits are available online at and can be paid with tuition and fees for the semester. 

Campus Transit

Georgia Tech offers nine transit routes that span across campus, Tech Square and Midtown Atlanta. Visit or download the Passio GO! to track the buses in real time. The campus’s robust transit system helps students get to class, go grocery shopping or meet up with friends. It also provides service to Atlanta’s MARTA rail system for rides throughout the city or to the airport. All transit is fare-free and available to all students, employees and campus visitors.   

Nighttime Transportation

The Stingerette Safety Shuttle provides nighttime point-to-point shared rides to all campus buildings and several off-campus apartment complexes. Download the Stingerette mobile app or visit to request a ride from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. seven days a week.  

For Students with Disabilities

Paratransit Service aids students who need transportation assistance due to permanent or temporary mobility impairments. Authorization for this service can be obtained from the Disability Services office. PTS will tailor pick-ups and drop-offs based on student’s class and work schedules.  

About our operations under Covid-19

Covid-19 has changed the way our on-campus services operate. We understand how uncertain these times are, and we are working to accommodate the needs of our campus community who continue to depend on these services. The safety and health of our students, faculty and staff is our greatest priority. Georgia Tech’s plan for in-person instruction and campus protocols due to Covid-19 may change as we continue to receive guidance from USG as well as local and national officials. Safety on Campus Transit

For the safety of the entire Georgia Tech community, the following transit passenger guidelines are currently in place: 

  • Avoid riding if you are sick.
  • Use queue markers at bus stops to maintain distance.
  • Board and exit through rear doors when possible.
  • Wear a mask. If you do not have one, request a mask from the driver.
  • Follow seat spacing guidelines.
  • Standing is not allowed. If a seat is not available, wait for the next bus.
  • Limit contact with others.

Georgia Tech has increased measures to disinfect transit vehicles, done with guidance from the CDC and American Public Transportation Association. Our drivers perform a health safety check daily and weary face masks/shields. Please continue to follow the CDC's recommendations to protect yourself and the Georgia Tech community. 

Safety in Parking Facilities

All parking facilities will undergo routine daily disinfecting of surfaces, including but not limited to: :

  • Elevator doors, walls, ceilings and floors
  • Exterior and interior elevator buttons
  • Emergency phone buttons
  • Entry and exiting ticket dispenser panels
  • Prox card readers at entry and exiting gates


Contact-free Services

Customers are encouraged to utilize contact-free services to avoid visiting the PTS office. Services that can be performed contact-free include: 

  • Permit purchases, vehicle management and citation appeals/payments online at
  • Virtual permits and license plate recognition
  • Prox card gate entry (BuzzCards, carpool permits and gate access cards can placed near (not on) prox readers for entering/exiting gated lots.
